Description
The success of the Razor Fundamentals seminar led many stylists to talk to me about learning more about razor-cutting. This became my inspiration for Razor Advanced. For those that already have experience of the razor, this two-day seminar focuses on ultra-modern, trendsetting, and sophisticated razor techniques that allow you to unlock true creative potential. All these techniques have been developed, and are now practiced, at ARROJO studio and include: texturizing, creating swinging bangs, panel cutting, forming geometric and rounded shapes, making a weightless line with swing and movement, shaping rounded bangs, undercutting through the back sections, and how to use a razor when cutting close to the root. Each technique is highlighted in demos before you execute them in supervised model and mannequin workshops. No. This class is recommended for experienced razor cutters. If you have not taken our Razor Fundamentals seminar, we recommend taking that seminar first. If you have taken Razor Fundamentals and/or have experience practicing razor cutting, Razor Advanced is the perfect seminar to go from good to great.

The straightedge razor facilitates natural-looking swing and movement for modern hairstyles. Unlike scissors, the razor can remove length and weight at the same time. The razor is great for adding texture and taper and will add softness to your styles. It’s great for low-maintenance, wash and wear haircuts.

A good way to visualize it, is to think of scissor cutting as like architecture and razor cutting as like sculpture. With a scissor you construct the shape; with a razor you sketch the shape.

Razor, blades, scissors, clips, combs, spray bottle, and blow-dryer. We recommend the ARROJO feather plier straightedge razor. If you do not own one, you can purchase online. Class attendees can also purchase the ARROJO signature razor at the outset of the class, directly from the instructor, with a 20% saving.

Yes. It’s a fully hands-on seminar with a series of lessons throughout the day. Each attendee is allocated a mannequin and practices a variety of techniques under our interactive instruction.
